Step Up for PMG

This October, we’re asking our PMG community to Step Up for PMG—and we want you to make it your own!

Our fall fundraising campaign is all about bringing people together to raise awareness, build community, and raise funds to support PMG Awareness Organization (PMGA) and the families living with polymicrogyria.

So, how do you Step Up for PMG?

There’s no single right way—and there’s no event you have to participate in.

We’re inviting you to create something that works for you, your family, your friends, and your community.

Maybe you’ll…

• 🏃 Organize a community 5K or fun run
• 🚶 Host a walk or virtual challenge
• 🍋 Set up a lemonade stand
• ♻️ Hold a bottle drive
• 🏡 Organize a yard sale
• 🎉 Host a community celebration or fundraiser
• 🎟️ Plan a gala, dinner, or other special event
• 💃 Get people moving with a dance, fitness, or activity challenge
• 💡 Or come up with something completely different!

The possibilities are endless—and that’s the point.

During October, you can create a Step Up for PMG fundraising page and invite your family, friends, coworkers, and community to join you or support your efforts.

Creating a fundraising page allows PMGA to help promote your fundraiser and gives others an easy way to get involved and donate.

Prefer to do your own thing? That works, too!

You can hold a stand-alone event, collect donations, and send them to PMGA. You don't need a big event, a large team, or a huge fundraising goal.

There are no barriers, no required event, and no “right” way to participate.

Just find a way to Step Up that feels right for you.

Why does it matter?

Every effort counts.

Every conversation helps someone learn about polymicrogyria.

Every person who shares our story helps grow awareness.

And every dollar raised helps PMGA continue to provide resources, connections, education, and hope to families impacted by PMG.

Our PMG community is growing, and so are the needs of the families we serve. As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on the generosity, creativity, and passion of our community to keep our mission moving forward.

Step Up for PMG 2026 t-shirts are available to purchase on Bonfire! All profits will go back to PMGA to support our mission.

We recommend purchasing early to allow 1-2 weeks for order processing and delivery.

Why Participate?

By participating in the PMGA annual fall fundraiser, you will benefit PMG Awareness Organization, Inc. by helping to not only raise awareness of PMG, but also provide our families with the PMGA Family Conventions. These Family Convention brings PMG families together to connect and learn from each other, as well as learn from medical professionals. Many of the families who attend are just starting on their PMG journey and have never met another individual with polymicrogyria. The connections formed and the amount of information gained during these conventions are life changing. Families have a new sense of hope and encouragement while being surrounded by others who truly understand. There is nothing like it!

Last year, we fell short of our goal, but with your help and support, we believe we can reach our goal of $45,000 this year! 100% of all net proceeds raised from the virtual race will go directly to PMG Awareness Organization, Inc. to fulfill our mission of raising support and awareness for those with polymicrogyria and their families.
