PMGA 2024 Virtual Race

Join us as we "Run, Walk, Rock or Roll" to raise awareness of PMG (polymicrogyria)!

Lace up your sneakers, find your rhythm, and be a part of our Run, Walk, Rock or Roll virtual race. This is the 10th annual virtual race dedicated to raising awareness and funds for PMG Awareness Organization. We invite you to join the virtual race in your own unique way - running, walking, rolling, or dancing through the steps.

This is a virtual 5K race and can be completed wherever you are and at any time between October 19 - November 3, 2024. Go at your own pace by doing it all at once or by completing a little bit each day. Enjoy the process and encourage others to join you by being active and raising awareness of polymicrogyria.

100% of the proceeds will support the PMG Awareness Organization's mission, to raise awareness and provide support for families affected by polymicrogyria. Funds raised also support the upcoming PMGA Family Convention in 2026!

Ready to Rock?

We encourage you to form teams in honor of the PMG rock stars in your life. When you register, you will select a team name and create a personalized team page. Then, share often on social media and rally your friends, family, and community to join your team and fundraise together.

Get creative with your virtual race! You can host a 5K in your town, hold a backyard barbecue, get friends together on a local trail, or dance it out in your living room. We invite you to share your race ideas and experiences with us in our official Facebook group!

Important Dates to Remember

Every registration receives a custom medal and event t-shirt. Additional t-shirts can be purchased during registration. To receive your medal and t-shirt by the official start of the event on October 19, 2024, you must register by September 16, 2024.

Those who register after September 16, 2024 will not receive their registration materials until after the event ends in November.

Why Participate?

By participating in the PMGA annual virtual race, you will benefit PMG Awareness Organization, Inc. by helping to not only raise awareness of PMG, but also provide our families with the PMGA Family Conventions. These Family Convention brings PMG families together to connect and learn from each other, as well as learn from medical professionals. Many of the families who attend are just starting on their PMG journey and have never met another individual with polymicrogyria. The connections formed and the amount of information gained during these conventions are life changing. Families have a new sense of hope and encouragement while being surrounded by others who truly understand. There is nothing like it!

Last year, the virtual race fell short of our goal, but we know we can raise $45,000 this year! With your help and support, we believe we can reach our goal. 100% of all net proceeds raised from the virtual race will go directly to PMG Awareness Organization, Inc. to fulfill our mission of raising support and awareness for those with polymicrogyria and their families.
